Aug. 27: Orientation and transit from Minneapolis to Lake Itasca

Aug. 28-29: Lake Itasca: Kick-off forÌýthe “Mississippi: An Anthropocene River” project, organized by the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW), the Goethe Institute, and Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, including engagement around Line 3 with , and orientation to the headwaters at the University of Minnesota’s Biological Field Station

Aug. 30 – Sept. 2:ÌýpaddleÌýin tandem canoes from Lake Itasca (headwaters) to Bemidji

Sept. 3 -19: shuttle to Twin Cities: activities/site visits/classes on campus and in Twin Cities

Sept. 20-21:Ìý Ìý“Sediment, Settlement, Sentiment” in Minneapolis/St. Paul

Sept. 22-24: paddle from La Crosse to Bad Ax

Sept. 25-28: Ìý“Anthropocene Drift” in the Driftless Area in SW Wisconsin

Sept. 26 – Oct. 3: transit through Quad Cities, Hannibal, Burlington (by van with camping and site visits along the way)

Oct. 4 – 10:ÌýÌýSt. Louis area (multiple site visits and possibleÌýpaddle middle Mississippi with Mike Clark of Big Muddy Adventures)

Oct. 11 -17:ÌýÌý“Confluence Ecologies” inÌýCarbondale/Paducah area (Deep Time Chicago) vans and paddle from Cairo to New Madrid

Oct. 18 – 30:ÌýÌýwith van shuttle to Memphis, Jackson, Old River Control, Angola Prison, and Natchez

Oct 31 – Nov. 8:ÌýpaddleÌýheavily industrialized “Chemical Corridor” from Baton Rouge to New Orleans, LA (NOLA)

Nov. 9-16: New Orleans and at Tulane’s

Nov. 17-22:Ìýpaddle to the Gulf of Mexico at the Head of Passes

Nov. 23 – Nov. 26: transit through Delta and Cajun country back to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving

Dec. 1 – Dec. 12: wrapping up classes on campus

Dec. 9: Presentation and Celebration at MWMO office

Dec. 18: Final papers/projects due
