Master of music therapy course schedule
The course schedule below outlines the course offerings for students entering the program as Board Certified Music Therapists. for non-music therapists.
The MMT is a 36 credit program with core music therapy courses, courses focused on the practice of music therapy in healthcare and medicine, and elective courses of interest.
Courses will be offered three terms a year based on the following schedule. (R)=Required, (E)=Elective.  Music Therapy-MT
Year 1 Fall:
- MUS 510 Advanced MT Theory 3 cr (R)
- MUS 515 Advanced MT Clinical Practice I 3 cr (R)*
- MUS 560 Music and Imagery 2 cr (E)*
Year 1 Spring:
- MUS 520 Adv. Music Therapy Clinical Practice II 3 cr (R)*
- MUS 530 MT Ethics 2 cr (R)
- MUS 550 Music Psychotherapy 2 cr (E)*
Year 1 Summer:
- MUS 525 Cross Cultural Awareness in MT 3 cr (R)
- MUS 570 Music, Neurology & Physiology 3 cr (E)
- Mus 540 MT Research I 3 cr (R)
Year 2 Fall:
- MUS 535 MT Supervision & Prof. Development 2 cr (R)
- MUS MT Research II 3 cr (R)

*MUS 511 Advanced Clinical Practicum 0 cr is a required co-requisite with MUS 515 and MUS 520 and must be taken with at least two of the following: MUS 550, 560, 565, 575, or 585.
