Parking Permit Information for Fall 2020

In an effort to support faculty, staff, and students as they return to campus and to allow for maximum flexibility on campus, we will not be requiring parking permits in Augsburg-owned surface lots to begin the 2020 Fall semester. While we are expecting a lower volume of vehicles on campus this fall, we will continue to monitor the parking lots and may require permits at a later date if the number of vehicles exceeds our expectations. We will give ample notice to the community when the decision is made to return to requiring permits in Augsburg owned parking lots.

For those who will be on campus regularly and are interested in underground parking, we will have permits for Luther and Oren Gateway underground garages for sale. Sales for underground permits will open on the following dates:

All students – Tuesday August 11, at 11:00 a.m.
All Staff and Faculty – Thursday August 13, at 11:00 a.m.

Permit prices are listed on the Department of Public Safety website, /dps/parking/#registration.

2017 Summer parking permit sales

Summer parking permits for 2017 will go on sale Tuesday, April 18th at 8:00am. If you have a valid 2016-2017 parking permit, you will be able to use that for Summer parking in surface lots K, A, B, D, and L. If you need to purchase a parking permit for the Summer semester, log into your Inside Augsburg account and register your vehicle information. You will be able to select the permit type you will need and pay online, or stop by Public Safety. If you have any questions, email parking@augsburg.edu or come to Public Safety.

FRESHMEN MOVE-IN PARKING AND TRAFFIC NOTICE

DATE: Friday, August 29 to Saturday, August 30

TIME: 10:00 p.m. (8/29) – 5:00 p.m. (8/30)

WHERE: Lots: A, B, C, D & E & Streets: 8th St. S, 7th St. S., 21st Ave. S., 22nd Ave. S., 23rd Ave. S., Butler Pl.

Please check the to see which lots are affected if you are not sure.

WHAT: Parking and traffic will be restricted on the above streets and reserved for freshmen moving into Urness. Vehicles not moved by 9:59 p.m. on August 29 from any restricted Augsburg lot will be towed at the owner’s expense. City streets are also subject to ticket and tow—check signage!

Those displaced by Freshmen Move-In may park in Lots G or L during this time. Traffic flow will also be restricted around the park and dorms, so please plan accordingly.
