Financial Aid Update for Parents

The Fall 2018 billing statements will be electronically sent to all registered students on July 10th.听听To ensure that all financial aid has been applied for, and correct amounts are owed, please make sure your student has turned in all necessary documents to the Student Financial Services Office by June 30th.听听Students can go to听听and click on 鈥楻eview Your Financial Aid鈥� to check the status of their financial aid, or to see what documents are missing or incomplete.

All students are eligible to enroll in Augsburg鈥檚 Online Payment Plan; enrollment will open on July 10th.听听听Go to听听to sign up for the payment plan.

To ensure 5 monthly payments, the application听must听be completed by July 26th.

Tuition accounts must be paid-in-full to register for fall term, and for a diploma and/or transcript to be released; payments can be made online by going to听.听听听Students can go to听听and click on 鈥淩eview Your Student Account鈥� to see if they have an unpaid balance.听听Please see the听Parent听Information tab at听听听for instructions on making a payment听听and obtaining access to discuss your student鈥檚 financial information, etc.听听Please note that we will be unable to speak with any听parent/guardian that has not been authorized by the student.

The 2018-2019 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) can be completed online at听www.FAFSA.ed.gov听using the student鈥檚 and parent(s) 2016 federal taxes. 听听Remember to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to directly import the tax information, and make sure to submit the FAFSA by signing with your FSA ID. Students can go to听听and click on 鈥楻eview Your Financial Aid鈥� to check the status of their financial aid or to see what documents are missing or incomplete.

Many special moments took place at the Grand Opening of the Hagfors Center for Science, Business, and Religion. Thanks to more than 1,200 donors and alumni, Augsburg is providing today鈥檚 students with new laboratories, study rooms, flexible classrooms for hands-on learning, and open places for dialogue and debate.

All financial aid documents for the 2017-2018 academic year (including private loan applications) must be completed and/or returned to the Enrollment Center by April 6th听in order to receive financial aid for the spring term. Any documents received after that date cannot be guaranteed to be processed.听听

All students who attended Augsburg during the 2017 year have been notified that their 1098-T is available for their 2017 tax preparation.听 Students can view the form by logging on to AugNet Records and Registration and clicking on Make Payment/Account Activity. The 1098-T tax form can be found on the bottom right-hand side of this page.

The 1098 鈥揟 is a statement of qualifying education expenses that colleges and universities are required to issue for the purpose of determining a student鈥檚 or families eligibility for the Hope and Lifetime Learning education tax credits.听 Please note that Augsburg only calculates tuition and related expenses for purposes of the 1098-T by Amounts Billed, not payments received.听 You will find Amounts Billed in box 2.听 No information will be provided in box 1 for payments received.

All students wanting to apply for 2018-2019 year financial aid must submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) using their 2016 federal taxes (not their 2017 taxes).听 Students can complete the FAFSA online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov.听听 Remember to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to directly import the tax information, and make sure to submit the FAFSA by signing with your FSA ID.听 The priority deadline for completing the financial aid application is May 1st.

The Fall 2016 billing statements were听electronically sent to all registered students on July 7. To ensure that all financial aid has been applied for, and correct amounts are owed, please make sure your student has turned in all necessary documents to the Student Financial Services Office. Students can see what documents are missing, and their financial aid award letter once it is finalized, by logging into their Augnet account and clicking on 鈥楻ecords and Registration鈥� and then 鈥楾rack My Financial Aid.鈥�

Students are encouraged to give parents/guardians access to view their billing statements. Students must log in to and select 鈥楳ake a Payment/Account Activity鈥� on the right hand menu. Click 鈥榁iew your online student account鈥� and follow the instructions under 鈥楶arent/Third Party Access Instructions 鈥� Make a Payment.鈥�

The student must log into their Augnet Account at or听and click on 鈥楻ecords and Registration.’ Under 鈥業nformation Release鈥� they need to 鈥楢dd an Authorization.’ They will enter the full name and email address of the party/parties they are giving permission for future communication. Next, select 鈥楩inancial Aid/Finances Release鈥� and then click 鈥楽ave.鈥� Please note that we will be unable to speak with any parent/guardian that has not been authorized by the student.
