Program Application

The��Pre-Matriculation Program (PMP)��at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is a no-cost, non-degree curriculum track that provides academic enrichment for��post-baccalaureate students from disadvantaged backgrounds��seeking careers in health care. PMP students receive academic development and experience designed to��improve competitiveness��as a medical or health professions degree applicant.

• Zero tuition costs��for this nine-month, non-degree program.
• PMP students��participate in medical school-level coursework��while preparing to take or retake the MCAT. PMP students are graded in the same way as other RFU students. A transcript is available after completion of coursework.
• Students who do well academically in PMP will be granted an interview with the Chicago Medical School��or other RFU clinical program of their choice, providing all application requirements are met.
• PMP students benefit from focused faculty, staff and alumni mentors who��provide academic support, skills development and a small cohort��with whom they can experience professional school life and other enrichment experiences to which they might not otherwise have access.

Application Boot Camp brings together participants working on centralized applications to health professions programs, personal statements, and secondary applications. Participants meet in a Zoom room and actively engage in writing in a supported environment where they will receive guidance and feedback. 1. We��NO LONGER��require the GRE!

This month’s topic is “How to Write an Effective Personal Statement.” Join us as current medical school applicants read their personal statements live. After each reading we’ll hear feedback from John T. Pham, DO, Vice Dean of COMP-Northwest, and a team of current medical students, followed by feedback and discussion with the audience.

This University of Minnesota program is for pre-dental students* and will take place Monday, July 12 – Saturday, July 31, 2021. The program will run��part-time, with some sessions occurring during the day as well as evenings and/or weekends – to enable more prospective dental students to participate who may already have summer plans.

The exact format of the program is still TBD, as the ongoing pandemic impacts our ability to host in-person events.��Plan for a hybrid experience,��with live Zoom sessions, asynchronous online learning via Canvas, and potentially some live sessions at the dental school with social distancing and safety protocols in place (required mask wearing, enhanced sanitation, etc.). There is no cost to participate in the program!

The deadline is Sunday, April 18, 2021 @ 11:59pm CST – no late applications will be accepted
The application includes three required essays and��one letter of recommendation that must also be submitted by the deadline.��Applicants will be notified if they have been selected for the program by Friday, April 30, 2021.

Students* selected to participate in this program will be provided with training, resources, and experiences to strengthen their skills and assist them in creating a competitive application to dental school. Experiences may include DAT prep, connecting with current dental students, and hands-on activities. More information will be provided to students selected for the program.

*All students who have completed at least two full semesters of undergraduate education following their high school graduation are eligible to apply. PSEO/IB/CIS/AP coursework completed during high school does not apply. Not all who apply will be selected to participate. Preference given to rising sophomores and juniors in college as well as students who are underrepresented in dentistry, from a rural area, first-generation college students, lower socioeconomic status, and/or transfer students from a community college.

Rush University MS in Respiratory Care Program

The admissions team at Rush University College of Health Sciences is currently looking for prospective students for the MS in Respiratory Care program.

Respiratory care is not a widely known or considered profession. Many of our prospective students happen upon the field of respiratory care and once learning more, enroll in our program. Upon graduating from the program, alumni have very successful healthcare careers.

This program prepares graduates to be leaders in the profession. There is a high demand for qualified professionals and the projected growth rate for jobs in respiratory care from 2018-2028 is 21% much faster than average.

The Master of Science in����is a program focused on teaching students how to become health care providers who specialize on the cardiovascular and respiratory functions of patients. Respiratory therapists are engaged in patient assessment, care plan development and direct patient care. 2021 AADSAS Updates

The 2021-22 ADEA AADSAS^®��(ADEA Associated American Dental School Application Service) application opens on May 11 for applicants to begin creating their applications. Applicants will be able to submit their applications for consideration starting June 1.��Changes for the upcoming cycle include:

• “Document” Tab in Program Materials.��Dental schools might request additional documents in the application. Applicants can upload up to three additional documents.
• Letters of Evaluation.��The composite letter/packet is now counted as one instead of three. Applicants can provide four total letters, regardless of the status of the composite/committee letter.
• Disadvantaged Question.��The “Personal Information” section has been reordered and revised.��Note: The three questions have been removed.��If dental schools decide to still collect this information, they can add the questions manually to their “Program Materials” section.

2021-22 ADEA AADSAS Application Update

The 2021-22 ADEA AADSAS^®��(ADEA Associated American Dental School Application Service) application opens on May 11 for applicants to begin creating their applications. Applicants will be able to submit their applications for consideration starting June 1.��Changes for the upcoming cycle include:

• “Document” Tab in Program Materials.��Dental schools might request additional documents in the application. Applicants can upload up to three additional documents.
• Letters of Evaluation.��The composite letter/packet is now counted as one instead of three. Applicants can provide four total letters, regardless of the status of the composite/committee letter.
• Disadvantaged Question.��The “Personal Information” section has been reordered and revised to reflect the updates below.��Note: The three questions have been removed.��If dental schools decide to still collect this information, they can add the questions manually to their “Program Materials” section. Here are the changes:
  • The categories have been reordered on this page to read as follows:
    • Disadvantage Consideration
      • Revised to, “Should you be considered a disadvantaged applicant? Refer specifically to social, economic and or educational factors when making a determination. Reference the��
