Soon she travels to D.C. to complete a paid congressional internship as part of her Payne Fellowship. In the fall, she will begin a Master\u2019s of International Affairs at Columbia University, supported by the Payne Fellowship and additional dollars awarded to her by Columbia. Next summer she will participate in a paid overseas internship. When she finishes her Master\u2019s at Columbia she will have a position waiting for her with USAID.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Patrick Bayle\" href=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/now\/2012\/11\/01\/patrick-bayle-12\/\">Patrick Bayle &#8217;12<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nou Chang &#8217;10<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Nou Chang: An Asian Amercian Perspective of South Korea\" href=\"http:\/\/augnet.augsburg.edu\/news-archives\/2008\/10_06_08\/nou_chang.html\">An Asian American Perspective of South Korea<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Nou Chang: Being an Active Citizen\" href=\"http:\/\/augnet.augsburg.edu\/news-archives\/2010\/04_19_10\/nou_chang.html\">Being an Active Citizen<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lorreal Edwards &#8217;16<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lorreal was selected to be a Traveler&#8217;s EDGE Scholar. Dustina Granlund &#8217;14, was also a Traveler&#8217;s EDGE scholar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Shaping Our Future article from Summer 2013 Augsburg Now: Kassie B-F\" href=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/now\/2013\/08\/14\/shaping-our-future\/\">Kassie Benjamin-Ficken &#8217;12<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kassie was a featured educator for Education Post, a a nonprofit, nonpartisan communications organization dedicated to building support for student-focused improvements in public education from preschool to high school graduation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mary Godi &#8217;13<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mary was the May 2013 Commencement speaker. <a title=\"May 2013 Commencemnt: Mary Godi\" href=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/now\/2013\/08\/14\/commencement-introducing-augsburgs-newest-alumni\/\">Mary is quoted here<\/a> and there are pictures of her and the graduating class.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Heidi Le\" href=\"http:\/\/augnet.augsburg.edu\/news-archives\/2010\/04_12_10\/fulbrights.html\">Heidi Le &#8217;10<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Andrena Murphy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/now\/2012\/07\/01\/the-first-in-her-family\/\">Andrena Murphy &#8217;15<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tenzin Paichang &#8217;16<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tenzin was chosen to assist His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama during the Dalai Lama&#8217;s 2014 visit to the Twin Cities for the Nobel Peace Prize Forum and the Tibetan New Year celebration. Stories about Tenzin&#8217;s involvement were featured in the <a title=\"Pioneer Press article: Tenzin Paichang\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twincities.com\/family\/ci_25248932\/dalai-lamas-visit-will-be-third-juncture-augsburg\">St. Paul Pioneer Press<\/a> and on local CBS affiliate <a title=\"WCCO story: Tenzin Paichang\" href=\"http:\/\/minnesota.cbslocal.com\/2014\/03\/01\/dalai-lama-visits-minneapolis-for-nobel-peace-prize-forum-tibetan-new-year\/\">WCCO<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Abdulkadir Sharif &#8217;20<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Abdul has finished his first semester at Georgetown School of Foreign Service studying for a Master\u2019s in International Security funded by a Pickering Fellowship. This summer, as part of his Pickering Fellowship, Abdul will be interning in D.C. with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Office of the Global Leaders Division. He will be focusing on public diplomacy efforts in the Western Hemisphere and Sub-Saharan Africa. Next summer he will have an overseas placement with the foreign service. Once he completes his internships and master\u2019s he will enter the foreign service as a U.S. diplomat. In addition to winning a Pickering, Abdul won a Boren African Flagship Initiative award where he studied Swahili at the University of Florida and in Tanzania. He also won a Public Policy and International Affairs Junior Summer Institute Scholarship to study at Princeton as well as an Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in the Netherlands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Christine Smith and Houa Lor\" href=\"http:\/\/inside.augsburg.edu\/news-archives\/2011\/10_10_11\/student_presidents.html\">Christine Smith &#8217;13 and Houa Lor &#8217;13<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Bonner Scholars: Brittney Westgard\" href=\"http:\/\/inside.augsburg.edu\/news-archives\/2013\/02_18_13\/Bonner_Leaders.html\">Brittney Westgard &#8217;14<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kuoth Wiel &#8217;13<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kuoth was selected for a role in the Warner Bros. feature film &#8220;The Good Lie,&#8221; about &#8220;The Lost Boys&#8221; of Sudan. The movie stars Academy Award Winner, Reese Witherspoon (2006 Best Actress in a Lead Role for &#8220;Walk the Line&#8221;). Kuoth has been featured in several articles in the St. Paul Pioneer Press (<a title=\"May 19, 2013, Kuoth Wiel article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twincities.com\/entertainment\/ci_23278902\/facebook-message-led-augsburg-student-key-role-reese\">May 19, 2013<\/a> and <a title=\"October 2, 2014, Kuoth Wiel article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twincities.com\/movies\/ci_26653856\/good-lie-is-survival-story-and-minnesota-womans\">October 2, 2014<\/a>).
