The 2021 Expedition included a total of approximately 100 days in the field, with approximately 40 days of paddling.\u00a0 We started with a visit at the Headwaters, and launched from the Twin Cities on Sept. 3.<\/p>\n

Aug. 28: Pre-trip pack-out and load-in on the Augsburg University campus in Minneapolis, then transit from Minneapolis to Lake Itasca and settle in at camp<\/p>\n

Aug. 29-31: Lake Itasca and Line 3 Pipeline site in Palisade MN<\/span><\/p>\n

Sept. 1-2: Return to Minneapolis for pre-trip gear sorting, assembling boats, and final orientation details<\/span><\/p>\n

Sept. 3 : <\/span>Launch at B\u2019dote<\/b><\/p>\n

Sept. 4 \u2013 Oct. 13: paddle<\/strong> and sail from Twin Cities to the Quad Cities<\/span><\/p>\n

Oct. 14 \u2013 23: Transit to Memphis and visit in Memphis area<\/span><\/p>\n

Oct. 24 – Nov. 19: paddle<\/strong> from Memphis\u00a0<\/span>past Vicksburg to Natchez, the \u201cWild Miles,\u201d and on to the Old River Control structure, and on\u00a0<\/span>to Baton Rouge<\/span><\/p>\n

Nov. 20 \u2013 Dec. 1: transit to New Orleans and St. Bernard State Park;\u00a0<\/span>Thanksgiving in New Orleans and multiple site visits in NOLA<\/span><\/p>\n

Dec. 2 – 5:<\/span>shuttle to the Gulf of Mexico at Cypremort Point State Park<\/span><\/p>\n

Dec. 6-7: Van shuttle back to Minneapolis<\/span><\/p>\n

Dec. 13: Public presentations on the expedition<\/span><\/p>\n

Dec. 16: Final papers\/projects due<\/span><\/p>\n
