{"id":9801,"date":"2012-09-17T21:19:27","date_gmt":"2012-09-17T21:19:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/?page_id=9801"},"modified":"2024-12-11T12:09:39","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T18:09:39","slug":"registration","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/registrar\/registration\/","title":{"rendered":"Registration Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Policies<\/h2>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>All registration deadlines are listed in the\u00a0<a title=\"Academic Calendars\" href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/registrar\/calendars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Academic Calendar<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Registration deadlines for Time 1 and Time 2 courses will differ from Full Semester courses.<\/li>\n<li>Requesting an exception to the published registration deadlines (adding, withdrawing, changing grade option, etc., after the published deadline) requires an\u00a0<a title=\"Academic Petition\" href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/registrar\/forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Academic\/Financial Petition<\/a>\u00a0submitted along with a\u00a0<a title=\"Registration Form\" href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/registrar\/forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Registration Form<\/a>\u00a0with instructor support.<\/li>\n<li>Registration changes that cannot be completed in <a title=\"AugNet\" href=\"https:\/\/augnet.augsburg.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Records &amp; Registration<\/a> will require a signed and dated\u00a0<a title=\"Registration Form\" href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/registrar\/forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Registration Form<\/a>\u00a0to be processed in the Enrollment Center. It is the student\u2019s responsibility to ensure required faculty signatures are obtained (for an override of a closed course or waiver of a department prerequisite).<\/li>\n<li>For any science class that has a required lab, you must register for both the lecture and the lab separately.<\/li>\n<li>Detailed registration policies can be found in the\u00a0<a title=\"Academic Catalogs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/catalog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Academic Catalogs<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>undergraduate Daily class schedule<\/h2>\n<p>For the 2024-2025 academic year in the undergraduate program, 4-credit courses typically meet either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 70 minutes each meeting, or Tuesday and Thursday for 100 minutes each day. Most evening classes are held once a week for 3.5 hours. Some courses do not follow this pattern due to their teaching needs. Students should always verify the meeting schedule of their registered courses as noted in the My Classes screen of <a title=\"Augnet\" href=\"https:\/\/inside.augsburg.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Records &amp; Registration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning in Fall 2025, the daily class schedule will have a later start time and different class period duration. Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes will be 60 minutes, Tuesday-Thursday classes will be 90 minutes, and evening classes will be 3 hours. Lab classes, studio arts, and some other courses will continue to be scheduled outside of these typical time frames.<\/p>\n<h2>course modality definitions<\/h2>\n<p>Augsburg recognizes and supports Moodle, Zoom, and Google Hangouts as the official tools for online delivery of course material and other student services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On-Campus<\/strong><br \/>\nOn-campus classes meet in-person at regularly scheduled times. Moodle may be used to supplement instruction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hybrid<\/strong><br \/>\nHybrid courses combine on-campus meetings with online activities. The online work can be synchronous or asynchronous. Classes meet on-campus at regularly scheduled times and Moodle is used to offer additional instruction online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asynchronous Online<\/strong><br \/>\nAsynchronous online courses offer independent learning. There are no scheduled meetings and no requirements for on-campus attendance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Synchronous Online (Graduate program courses only)<\/strong><br \/>\nSynchronous online courses require students to attend class virtually at regularly scheduled times. There may also be asynchronous independent learning in the course.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Online Registration Instructions<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Prepare to Register<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Know your Inside Augsburg username and password.<\/li>\n<li>Log in to <a title=\"Augnet\" href=\"https:\/\/inside.augsburg.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Records &amp; Registration<\/a> to check for holds on the Welcome page. You will need to clear any holds in order to register.<\/li>\n<li>Know when your registration window opens.\u00a0 This is also found on the Welcome page.<\/li>\n<li>Use the <a title=\"Course Planner\" href=\"https:\/\/web.augsburg.edu\/advising\/Weekly%20Planner.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Course Planner<\/a> (PDF) and <a title=\"Course Search\" href=\"https:\/\/registration.augsburg.edu\/recreg\/Pages\/frmCourseSearch.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Course Search<\/a> to prepare for online registration.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>Register for Courses<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>When your registration date\/time arrives, log in to <a title=\"Augnet\" href=\"https:\/\/inside.augsburg.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Records &amp; Registration<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A Welcome page will appear with a menu of options on the left side of the screen. Any registration holds will display on this page.<\/li>\n<li>Graduate students enrolled in more than one program can choose which program they wish to register for by clicking on\u00a0&#8216;Program Selection&#8217; in the left-hand navigation and selecting the appropriate program\u00a0from the drop down menu in the upper right-hand corner.<\/li>\n<li>Click on &#8216;Search\/Register for Classes&#8217; in the left-hand navigation.<\/li>\n<li>Use the &#8216;Academic Term&#8217; drop-down menu to select the correct Semester and Program (AU, DAY, GRAD). Use the other fields to narrow your search.<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8216;Search&#8217; to see results.<\/li>\n<li>Results will show a summary of courses that match your search options. Click on an individual course listing to see more details (prerequisites, general education categories, room location, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Click on &#8216;Register for This Course.&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>On the next page, click on &#8216;Confirm Registration.&#8217;\u00a0<strong>You must click &#8216;Confirm Registration&#8217; to save the registration to your schedule.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Repeat steps 1 through 9 until all your courses have been added.<\/li>\n<li>View your &#8216;Active Courses&#8217; in the left-hand navigation to confirm that all your courses have been registered correctly.\u00a0<strong>Students should verify the accuracy of their schedule via &#8216;My Classes&#8217; within the registration deadlines to allow for any adjustments necessary.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>View or Edit Your Schedule<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Click on &#8216;My Classes&#8217; in the left-hand navigation.<\/li>\n<li>From your list of active courses, use the &#8216;Drop&#8217; or &#8216;Withdraw&#8217; button that appears next to the course. Courses will have a \u2018Change\u2019 option under the &#8216;Grade Option&#8217; column. Use this to change your grade option and confirm the change.<\/li>\n<li>On the next page, click on &#8216;Confirm&#8217; to save the change to your schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>ONLINE REGISTRATION RESTRICTIONS<\/h2>\n<p>The following registrations cannot be completed online and must be processed at the Enrollment Center:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>THP courses (theatre practicum)<\/li>\n<li>100-level MUP courses (variable credit music lessons)<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Independent\/Directed Study\" href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/registrar\/forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Independent and Directed Study Form<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Internship\" href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/registrar\/forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Internship Form<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Courses with prerequisite issues (requires prerequisite be waived by instructor, or previous Augsburg courses or transfer credit not automatically recognized by the registration system)<\/li>\n<li>Courses with no available seats (requires instructor permission)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Policies All registration deadlines are listed in the\u00a0Academic Calendar.
