The Doctor of Psychology encourages qualified applicants from other countries to apply to the PsyD program. An F-1 student is a non-immigrant who is pursuing a \u201cfull course of study\u201d to achieve a specific educational or professional objective, at an academic institution in the United States that has been designated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to offer courses of study to such students, and has been enrolled in SEVIS (the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System).\u00a0 Along with the normal application process through PsychologyCas<\/a>, international applicants may also be required to provide the following:<\/p>\n English Language Proficiency<\/strong><\/p>\n To fulfill Augsburg University\u2019s English Language Proficiency Requirement, all applicants must provide evidence of a sufficient command of both written and spoken English. Non-native or foreign-born English language speakers may be exempt from this requirement and request a waiver based on the successful demonstration of one of the following (applicants may be asked to provide official documentation):<\/p>\n Outside of the exemptions listed above, prospective international graduate students may demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following:<\/span><\/p>\n Score reports must be sent to Augsburg directly from the testing center.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n International Transcript Evaluations<\/strong><\/p>\n Students who have attended a college or university outside of the United States are typically required to submit international transcript(s) accompanied by a professional credit evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n The evaluation report must be sent directly to Augsburg\u2019s Office of Admissions. Preferred evaluation services are World Education Services (<\/span>www.wes.org<\/span><\/a>) or Educational Credential Evaluators (<\/span>www.ece.org<\/span><\/a>), though Augsburg will accept evaluations from any member of the National Association of Credential Evaluators (<\/span>www.naces.org<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n Augsburg may waive the foreign credential evaluation if an official transcript provides sufficient information to determine credit and degree equivalency. This includes but is not limited to students who have earned a Master’s level degree or higher in the United States and those who have completed coursework as part of a study abroad experience.<\/span><\/p>\n Non-degree seeking students may submit an unofficial transcript as part of their non-degree application. However,\u00a0 depending on the course of study, Augsburg may request an official transcript and foreign credential evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
