Crowley, SJ\u2019s <em>The Unmoored God: Believing in a Time of Dislocation<\/em> (Orbis Books, 2017). Crowley reminds us that God moves in our midst and in our history, and that the lack of familiar props or sure signposts are not reasons for doubt but calls to be ever vigilant to what God intends for us in our own dislocations.<\/p>\n<p>In a more secular vein, I have historian Doris Kearns Goodwin\u2019s new tome, <em>Leadership in Turbulent Times<\/em> (Simon and Schuster, 2018), her analysis of the leadership lessons from Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson \u2013 each of whom she has studied carefully over the last five decades.<\/p>\n<p>On a more personal note, I am proud to let you know that my brother, Brad Pribbenow, who teaches and administers at the Lutheran Brethren Seminary in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, has just published <em>Prayerbook of Christ: Dietrich Bonhoeffer\u2019s Christological Interpretation of the Psalms<\/em> (Lexington Books, 2018).<\/p>\n<p>&gt;&gt;Gratitude&lt;&lt;<\/p>\n<p>i thank You God for most this amazing<br \/>\nday: for\u00a0the\u00a0leaping greenly spirits of trees<br \/>\nand a blue true dream of sky; and for everything<br \/>\nwhich is natural which is infinite which is yes<\/p>\n<p>(i who have died am alive again today,<br \/>\nand this is\u00a0the\u00a0sun&#8217;s birthday; this is\u00a0the\u00a0birth<br \/>\nday of life and love and wings and of\u00a0the\u00a0gay<br \/>\ngreat happening illimitably earth)<\/p>\n<p>how should tasting touching hearing seeing<br \/>\nbreathing any-lifted from\u00a0the\u00a0no<br \/>\nof all nothing-human merely being<br \/>\ndoubt unimaginable You?<\/p>\n<p>(now\u00a0the\u00a0ears of my ears awake and<br \/>\nnow\u00a0the\u00a0eyes of my eyes are opened)<\/p>\n<p>e e cummings<\/p>\n<p><em>(in &#8216;complete poems 1904 &#8211; 1962&#8217;)<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Augsburg alum and friend, Dr. Paul Batalden, is always a source of important new books.\u00a0 Most recently, he pointed me to Paul G.
