Become a Preceptor!<\/h2>\n

Augsburg University\u2019s PA program is seeking clinician preceptors to help train our students in clinical settings.<\/b><\/p>\n

Clinical instructors are a key ingredient in educating the next generation of PAs. By working with Augsburg PA, you will be contributing to a one-of-a-kind program that offers a hands-on, case-based medical curriculum with point-of-care ultrasound proficiency training and trauma-informed care, in addition to procedural and physical exam skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

PA clinical education includes core rotations in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, women\u2019s health, general surgery, and emergency medicine. We are also open to specialty rotations. Our <\/span>PAs are trained in a collaborative model, meaning we embrace opportunities for PAs, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, behavioral health professionals, MDs, and DOs to precept and engage in our students\u2019 clinical education.<\/span><\/p>\n

Category I CME for PA Preceptors<\/h2>\n

The Augsburg PA Program has been granted permission to offer Category I CME credit to our PA-C
\npreceptors.\u00a0*Note: We are unable to award credit from previous years due to submission standards.<\/i>\u00a0<\/b>See below for a summary of the process:<\/p>\n

  1. The PA Program may award 2.0 AAPA Category I CME credits for each week of clinical teaching.
    \nExample: 5 week rotation= 10 credits. One week= 40 hours.<\/li>\n
  2. If a preceptor has more than one student at a time, that preceptor may be awarded an
    \nadditional CME I credit for each additional student.<\/li>\n
  3. Preceptors are encouraged to keep track of their weeks\/hours during the year, and these will be reconciled with program records to ensure accuracy.<\/li>\n
  4. The preceptor must complete the Preceptor Reporting and Evaluation Form<\/a> (also below) before December 15th each year.<\/li>\n
  5. Upon receipt of the completed evaluation form, the program will send you a certificate
    \nawarding the Category I CME credits.
