This year, Give to the Max Day is November 17, and the College is calling on alumni to push Augsburg into the top spot for the fourth year in a row.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">In 2015, in just 24 hours, more than 1,000 Auggies\u2014many of whom were first-time donors\u2014generously stepped up to give more than $240,000 to Augsburg. As a result, Augsburg ranked first among all participating Minnesota colleges and universities, and earned a $10,000 bonus. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Alumni support on Give to the Max Day has a lasting impact and supports new opportunities for students. Funds raised last year supported the expansion of on-campus research; the purchase of a 3-D printer for the mathematics and statistics department; production costs for Howling Bird Press, the student-run book publishing project in the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program; and trips by athletic teams for competition, education, and community service.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7172\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7172\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/now\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/07\/GTTM-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7172\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/now\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/07\/GTTM-3-320x192.jpg\" alt=\"Jordan Brandt \u201917 throws a pitch on the baseball team\u2019s 2016 spring break trip to Arizona. Gifts are being sought to honor the work of <strong><span class=\"s2\">Leland Sateren \u201935<\/span>,<span class=\"s2\"> U.S. Rep. Martin Sabo \u201959<\/span><\/strong>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/stepup\/\">StepUP\u00ae program<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/urgo\/\">Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity<\/a>, which connects students with new and existing research and scholarship on campus, across the United States, and around the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Anyone can donate any amount on Give to the Max Day.
