The two men established alumni Class Challenges\u00a0to create a friendly philanthropic-giving competition between\u00a0their respective classes, and to invite all alumni to give back to\u00a0the College to help build the Center for Science, Business, and\u00a0Religion (CSBR).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarly gifts from alumni and friends of the College made\u00a0it possible for each of us to experience a great Augsburg\u00a0education,\u201d Ascher said. \u201cWe are convinced. Now is our time to\u00a0make the investment and help open doors for others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo other campus we know has created such an exciting\u00a0intersection of disciplines\u2014science, business, and\u00a0religion\u2014to serve students and forge a pathway to a better\u00a0future for all of us,\u201d Jorgenson said.<\/p>\n<p>Many classes already are involved in Class Challenges,\u00a0and some have surpassed their goal of donating $1 million to\u00a0the campaign. As of October 15, 42 classes had contributed\u00a0more than $25,000 (see chart below).<\/p>\n<p>The Class Challenges, combined with a recent gift of $10\u00a0million from a member of the class of 1965, bring the CSBR fund\u00a0to more than $25 million.
