Preparing students for success is a key part of\u00a0an Augsburg education and central to the College\u2019s mission of educating\u00a0students to be informed citizens, thoughtful stewards, critical\u00a0thinkers, and responsible leaders. Here\u2019s a snapshot of facts\u00a0and figures\u2014and student stories\u2014that show how recent Auggie\u00a0graduates are having an impact early in their careers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each year, more than 100 employers\u00a0visit campus to recruit students\u00a0or to participate in career-related events\u00a0including Fairview Riverside Hospitals\u00a0and Clinics, the federal government,\u00a0KDV consulting, KPMG, Target Corporation,\u00a0Thrivent Financial for Lutherans\u2122, and\u00a0Twin Cities television and radio stations<\/li>\n<li>More than 60 percent of Augsburg students engage in internships\u00a0and major-related work with\u00a0business, non-profit, and government employers,\u00a0gaining professional experience before graduation<\/li>\n<li>More than 90 percent of Augsburg students are fully employed or enrolled in graduate school within 18 months of graduation<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"display: inline !important;\">The Clair and Gladys Strommen Center for Meaningful Work provides\u00a0individualized assistance with\u00a0choosing a major, finding an\u00a0internship, writing resumes,\u00a0developing interviewing skills,\u00a0attending job fairs,\u00a0and helping students\u00a0find meaningful work\u00a0after college<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Graduates from the class of 2012 secured full-time employment with organizations including: 3M, Advanced Medical Electronics, Air Force Research Labs, Ameriprise Financial, Cargill, Comcast, Dart Transit Company, Delfi Technologies Inc., Delta Airlines, Hennepin County, Marriott, the Mayo Clinic, the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Minnesota Twins, Piper Jaffray, Prudential, Regions Hospital, Robert Half Technology, Robotics Redefined Inc., Sherwin-Williams, Target Corp., Teach for America, Thomson Reuters, University of Minnesota, and Wells Fargo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3485\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3485\" style=\"width: 197px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3485\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/now\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2013\/08\/Laurie-Barger.jpg\" alt=\"LAURIE BARGER \u201913\" width=\"197\" height=\"259\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3485\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Laurie Barger \u201913<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>LAURIE BARGER \u201913<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Associate Analyst\u2014Merchandising and Business Intelligence,\u00a0Target Corporation<\/p>\n<p>At Augsburg: Mathematics and Spanish major, played on the women\u2019s\u00a0soccer team, studied abroad in Mexico and Cuba, tutored for the\u00a0Mathematics Department, volunteered at a local social service agency\u00a0doing taxes for low-income families, member of the Augsburg Business\u00a0Association<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFrom the moment I stepped on campus, I knew that Augsburg was\u00a0going to give me the drive, motivation, and opportunities I would need\u00a0to become successful.
