Press in August. Minnesota author Will Weaver describes the book as \u201cstartingly good \u2026 powered by grief, memory, and married love. Poetic, literary, yet always accessible.\u201d The work explores mythology and fairy tales, scientific research, theology, poetry, music, and art in an effort to wrest meaning out of the experience of dementia.<\/p>\n<h2>2000s<\/h2>\n<h3>2004<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Kylie (Grunzke) Rieke \u201904<\/strong> has coauthored a book with her husband. \u201cA More Brilliant Life: Rise Above Expectations. Discover Who You Are. Reclaim Your Future\u201d was released on September 16.<\/p>\n<h3>2006<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cIn Wells\u2019 Time\u201d by <strong>David Nash \u201906<\/strong> was a 2025 Minnesota Book Award Finalist.<\/p>\n<h3>2009<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cSupernatural Parables: Book One\u2014Into Darkness\u201d is the first of a two-part anthology of parables that includes writing by <strong>Amanda Symes \u201909, MFA \u201915<\/strong>. The book includes stories by 11 authors in genres such as horror, crime, noir, science fiction, fantasy, and magical realism. It was released on Halloween by Dead Birds Publishing, which is run and edited by Symes and fellow Augsburg alum<strong> Jayne Carlson MFA \u201916<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>2010s<\/h2>\n<h3>2012<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katrin Klutho \u201912<\/strong> is the author of \u201cWitch Hunt: Birth by Flame,\u201d published by Beaver\u2019s Pond Press. \u201cWitch Hunt\u201d is her first book.<\/p>\n<h3>2013<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Tyler Heaps \u201913<\/strong>, the youngest sporting director in Major League Soccer, was profiled in the June 13 Star Tribune story \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/mls-san-diego-fc-sporting-director-tyler-heaps\/601372610\">MLS surprise San Diego FC comes to Allianz Field with a Minnesotan helping point the way.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>2016<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Nick Brundy \u201916<\/strong> has been named the head of sport performance and Deno Fitness Center manager at Macalester College. Previously, he worked six years at Augsburg, first as assistant strength and conditioning coach and, for the past three years, as head strength and conditioning coach. He was also an adjunct professor in the Health and Science Department at Augsburg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah Buckner \u201916<\/strong> will be serving as a linesperson at the 2026 Winter Olympics women\u2019s hockey competition. She has been a referee and linesperson in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, in the Professional Women\u2019s Hockey League, and in other collegiate and women\u2019s professional leagues.
