On November 23, 2022, WCCO-TV ran a story on Augsburg football coach Jack Osberg \u201962<\/strong>, \u201cAugsburg football legend Jack Osberg opens up about life with wife\u2019s Alzheimer\u2019s disease<\/a>.\u201d Osberg was featured in the Winter 2021\u201322 issue of Augsburg Now<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1984<\/h3>\n

Paul Mueller \u201984<\/strong>, regional vice president for Mayo Clinic Health System in Southwest Wisconsin, Augsburg regent emeritus, and current chair of Augsburg\u2019s Great Returns<\/em> campaign, participated as a panelist in a virtual community forum, \u201cA Tale of Two Viruses,\u201d hosted by Mayo Clinic in September 2022. The discussion focused on the contrast between monkeypox and COVID-19.<\/p>\n

1989<\/h3>\n

\u201cSister Novelists: The Trailblazing Porter Sisters, Who Paved the Way for Austen and the Bront\u00ebs,\u201d by Devoney Looser \u201989<\/strong>, was published in October 2022. The book was on Apple\u2019s list of the \u201cMost Anticipated Fall Books\u201d in nonfiction, and it received a starred review from Kirkus. Looser was featured in the Fall 2018 issue of Augsburg Now<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1991<\/h3>\n

Carla Steen \u201991<\/strong> was resident dramaturg for Guthrie Theater\u2019s world premiere of \u201cSally & Tom.\u201d<\/p>\n

1999<\/h3>\n

Real estate developer Devean George \u201999<\/strong><\/a> plans to build a modular-housing plant in Minneapolis\u2019 North Loop. The plant, which will manufacture modular units for multifamily housing, will create hundreds of jobs from 2023 to 2025 paying $30 or more per hour.<\/p>\n

Cheri Johnson \u201999<\/strong> is author of \u201cAnnika Rose,\u201d a novel manuscript that won the 2021\u201322 Women\u2019s Prose Prize from Red Hen Press in Pasadena, California. In 2022, she also published \u201cThe Girl in Duluth,\u201d a literary mystery, under the pen name Sigrid Brown. Publishers Weekly selected the book for review, calling it an \u201caffecting debut.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ross Murray \u201900, \u201909 MBA<\/strong>, vice president of GLAAD Media Institute, led a training tour in Australia. Offerings included a master class on LGBTQ advocacy and support for leaders looking to make their organizations more LGBTQ-welcoming and inclusive. Murray also met with the Australian Film Television and Radio School to speak with faculty about teaching students the impact of LGBTQ inclusivity in media representation.<\/p>\n

2004<\/h3>\n

Mary Taris \u201904<\/strong>, founder and CEO of Strive Publishing and Strive Bookstore, was one of the business owners featured in a KARE 11 story<\/a> about a 2022 holiday pop-up market in downtown Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

2005<\/h3>\n

Eddie Frizell \u201905 MAL<\/strong> was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2022 as the U.S. marshal for Minnesota. The first Black U.S. marshal in Minnesota history, he leads the U.S. Marshals Service for the state.<\/p>\n

2006<\/h3>\n

Wendi Wheeler \u201906, \u201913 MAL<\/strong>, spoke with a reporter about how a man holding a \u201cYou Are Loved\u201d sign in Moorhead, Minnesota, gave her hope when she was contemplating suicide. The story, \u201cA college student holding a sign on a Moorhead street corner saved her life<\/a>,\u201d appeared in several Minnesota newspapers.<\/p>\n

2009<\/h3>\n

Marette Hahn \u201909<\/strong>, director of academic and career excellence at Grand Canyon University, was nominated for the Athena Valley of the Sun Founder\u2019s Award.<\/p>\n

Rachel Studier \u201909, \u201912 MBA<\/strong>, chief operations officer of Mayo Employees Federal Credit Union, was named a Top Woman in Finance by Finance & Commerce, which covers business news in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

2010s<\/h2>\n

2013<\/h3>\n

For the past three years, Kacie Butcher \u201913<\/strong> has been director of the Public History Project at the University of Wisconsin\u2013Madison, a multiyear effort to uncover and give voice to histories of discrimination and resistance at the university. The project has resulted in a physical exhibition, a digital exhibition website, curricular materials, an event and lecture series, and a final report. The project is the first of its kind in the nation in regards to scope and its focus on public engagement.<\/p>\n

2014 and 2019<\/h3>\n

Sisters Faiso Abdulle \u201914, \u201920 DNP<\/strong> and Ikraan Abdulle \u201919 DNP<\/strong> are two of four nurses who founded OurPlace Residential Services. The business provides integrated support services to clients, including medical care, stable housing, and the supportive administrative and coaching services needed to stabilize disabled and homeless patients. The nurses and their business were featured in the August 28, 2022, Star Tribune story, \u201cFour first-generation Somali American nurses started business to care for patients in need<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

2015<\/h3>\n

Alisha Esselstein \u201915<\/strong> joined The Manely Firm, P.C., as an associate attorney.<\/p>\n

2018<\/h3>\n

Chung Lip \u201918<\/strong> recently published \u201cHers,\u201d a memoir which reflects on his childhood experience growing up in Cambodia. Lip wrote the memoir to share his personal experiences growing up as an orphan, to inspire others, and to promote resiliency among young people around the world.<\/p>\n

Tucker Robinson \u201922 <\/strong>is program coordinator for Change the Outcome.
