This past November, the university introduced its second doctoral program: a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology. Augsburg\u2019s first, the Doctor of Nursing Practice, began in 2010.<\/p>\n

Augsburg worked with former Minnesota School of Professional Psychology faculty and staff to provide continuity for students who were previously enrolled in the program housed at Argosy University. After the closure of Argosy in March 2019, Augsburg received approval from the Higher Learning Commission to offer this degree and become Minnesota\u2019s only university offering an in-person PsyD program in\u00a0clinical psychology.<\/p>\n

Employment of licensed psychologists and\u00a0related occupations is projected to grow 13.7% from 2016 to 2026 in the United States.\u00a0\u201cWe are pleased to offer this PsyD program as a way to meet the growing demand for mental health services statewide,\u201d said Monica Devers<\/strong>, Augsburg University dean of professional studies.<\/p>\n

Augsburg University is currently seeking\u00a0accreditation\u00a0on contingency\u00a0with American Psychological Association for newly admitted students to the Clinical Psychology PsyD program.
