Wednesday, March 27 showed to be a success:\u00a0 Amundsen Sports<\/a>, <\/span>Sons of Norway,<\/span><\/a> the <\/span>Honorary Consulate General in Minneapolis<\/span><\/a> and Norway Hub hosted a Norwegian Film Screening at Augsburg University.<\/span><\/p>\n

The newly released film AMUNDSEN was vied by 200 guests, and the event provided opportunities to mingle, network, and participate in an exciting raffle, the prize: a wool-sweater from<\/span> Amundsen Sports<\/span><\/a> identical to those used by Amundsen in the early 1900\u2019s.\u00a0Our reception included Pemmican samples (dried meat commonly eaten on expeditions) consumed voluntarily by our adventurous guests.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, <\/span>Ann Bancroft<\/span><\/a>, our guest of honor, shared her past experiences and expeditions as a polar explorer, her longtime friendship with Liv Arnesen, and her avid advocation for nature and female<\/span>\u00a0power.<\/span><\/p>\n

This event is an example of how Augsburg University continues to create opportunities connecting our students, staff and faculty to old and contemporary Norway. <\/span><\/p>\n
