\"auggieawards2012\"Augsburg College honored the accomplishments of its student-athletes and teams at its fifth annual Auggie Awards ceremony on Monday night at Si Melby Hall. The following student-athletes and teams earned honors:<\/p>\n

Senior Honor Athletes: Tony Valek (Wrestling), Kylee Persing (Softball)<\/p>\n

Outstanding Athletes of the Year: Chad Johnson (Wrestling), Ashley Carney (Track and Field)<\/p>\n

Rookies of the Year: Tyler Maxwell (Football), Rachel Hennessy (Women’s Hockey)<\/p>\n

Student-Athletes with Highest Grade-Point Average (all 4.0): Brandon Bukowski (Men’s Hockey) [pictured], Sandra Hinz (Women’s Hockey), Gary Mariscal (Baseball)<\/p>\n

Outstanding Teams of the Year: Wrestling and Volleyball<\/p>\n

Most Improved Teams of the Year: Football and Women’s Basketball<\/p>\n

Academic Teams of the Year: Men’s Hockey (3.51 team GPA) and Women’s Swimming and Diving (3.44 team GPA)<\/p>\n
