Hawkinson Foundation for Peace &amp; Justice has awarded Augsburg student\u00a0<strong>Atlese Robinson &#8217;15<\/strong> the 2014\u00a0Hawkinson Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship was created by the Foundation to encourage students who have already demonstrated a commitment to peace and justice to strive for those values\u00a0in their educational pursuits and in their personal and professional lives.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is majoring in theater at Augsburg. Her\u00a0artistic background includes the Penumbra Theatre\u2019s Summer Institute and the St. Paul Central High School\u2019s Central Touring Theatre. When she was attending Central, Robinson\u00a0wrote a poem highlighting racial inequalities within the school system. She then went on to perform the poem, with others, for groups of teachers and administration in the St. Paul Public Schools.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson has served as editor of <em>The Echo<\/em> newspaper, a student publication\u00a0at Augsburg College. She also has performed her original spoken word as part of the College&#8217;s\u00a0Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation celebration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Vincent L.
