The web-based component of this initiative, called U-CAN, was developed by the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and will be available to the public Sept. 26.<\/p>\n<p>This web site will provide students and their families with concise, consumer-friendly information on individual private colleges and universities across the country. The college profiles include information on admissions, enrollment, academics, student demographics, graduation rates, most-common field of study, credit-transfer policy, accreditation, faculty information, class size, tuition and fee trends, price of attendance, financial aid, campus housing, student life, and campus safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cU-CAN allows our colleges and universities to be transparent,\u201d said President Paul Pribbenow. \u201cThis is about pursuing accountability for our work as colleges and universities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There is no fee to access the U-CAN database.
