Augsburg College is proud to sponsor and/or host two events this March that will welcome His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to Minneapolis. Members of the media can find information about the visit by His Holiness on this page.
Event 1: Nobel Peace Prize Forum Keynote Address
SATURDAY, MARCH 1Ìý´¥ÌýSecurity Check: 7:30 a.m., ProgramÌý9:40-10:20 A.M.Ìý´¥ÌýMinneapolis Convention Center
- ¶Ù±ð²õ³¦°ù¾±±è³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô:ÌýHis Holiness the 14thÌýDalai Lama will deliver the keynote speech at the 26th Nobel Peace Prize Forum at the Minneapolis Convention Center. His Holiness, the spiritual leader of Tibetans and Buddhists worldwide, will speak on topics of faith, peace, and human values. The speech will be delivered in English. The NPPF is housed and coordinated by Augsburg College.

- Media Credentialing:ÌýCredentialing closed on Wednesday, February 19. Only members of the media who received notice of official credential approval will be permitted entrance.ÌýA photo ID will be required to pick up credentials. Please also wear or bring the credentials issued by your employer.ÌýConfirmations and additional information will be emailed to editors, reporters, and photographers who receive credentials.ÌýIf you do not receive a correspondence from Augsburg College by February 26 for this event, you were not approved for credentials. Credentials are not transferrable.
- Parking:ÌýParking is on your own. No special accommodations were made at this venue.
- Security:ÌýAll members of the media will be required to go through a security screening. All video cameras, still shot cameras, laptops, and any other recording devices or equipment will need to be placed in the media gallery for a security sweep. Media must be checked in and in the media gallery by the time of security checks. Late arrivals will not be permitted.
Event 2: Historic Tibetan New Year/Losar

- Description:ÌýHis Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will preside over the Tibetan New Year/Losar ceremony being held in Augsburg College’s Kennedy Center. It is the first time in the life of His Holiness, since exile, that he will observe Losar outside of India. The event is being held by the Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota.
