Admission Requirements<\/b><\/h2>\n

Qualified applicants must hold a bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited college or university, or an appropriately certified foreign institution, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for all undergraduate coursework. Students with a GPA of 2.5-3.0 may be admitted conditionally into the program based on the strength of their writing samples.<\/p>\n

Deadlines<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Admission is rolling until each genre cohort reaches capacity. Because we\u2019re thoughtful about mentor pairings and cohort size is limited, we encourage you to apply as early as possible to receive your decision and reserve your place. Completed applications are typically reviewed within two weeks.<\/p>\n

Personal Essay<\/h3>\n

Write a 1-3 page personal essay. Describe your goals as a writer and how you see an MFA in Creative Writing helping you reach these goals. Tell us about a moment when you knew you wanted to do something with your writing.<\/p>\n

As you work toward your MFA, you will receive a great deal of critical commentary on your creative work. You will also be expected to take part in the analysis of fellow MFA candidates\u2019 writing during the workshop sessions. How do you react to receiving and giving this type of commentary?<\/p>\n
