\nAbout<\/strong><\/h2>\nThe Health Commons at the Living Room is located in the Harrison Neighborhood of Minneapolis. It is the third location that was opened based on the model of care started in 1992 by the Augsburg University nursing faculty. This site opened in 2012 and is made possible due to an ongoing partnership with M Health Fairview, Redeemer Center for Life, and Augsburg University. This health-focused drop-in center works to meet people where they are to respond to any expressed felt need of those who visit, especially as it pertains to health. We are dedicated to building relationships based on mutual benefit and understanding with those who utilize our space. Anyone looking for one-on-one health consultations, massage (hand or back) or to have a place to sit and rest is welcome. The hope is that the moments here can allow guests to address their health needs as they deem necessary, and the work can lead to addressing barriers to health and fostering healing. This is also a unique collaboration as it is the first site lead in partnership with Augsburg’s Physician Assistant program! Augsburg’s model has been the center of care provided here, but an official partnership with the university did not happen until late in 2022.<\/p>\n
