<\/p>\nInternational Education Week\u00a0(IEW), November 18-22, 2019, is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education that celebrates the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Augsburg University, the Center for Global Education and Experience, and the International Student Organization (ISO) will be celebrating the week with multiple activities and events!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Poster Making Session<\/strong><\/p>\n Date: Friday November 15th<\/span><\/p>\n Time: 5-6 pm\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n Location: TBD<\/span><\/p>\n International students are encouraged to create a poster that represents your home country for a display during our poster day event on Wednesday, November 20th! First come first serve!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n From Tanzania to Namibia: Stories from a Scholarship Winner<\/strong><\/p>\n Date: <\/span>Thursday, November 21st\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Time: 3:30-4:30 pm\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Location: OGC 100\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Speaker: Abdul Sharif<\/span><\/p>\n Description: Augsburg student,\u00a0Abdul Sharif, ’20 (Political Science and International Relations double major) will present about his two study abroad experiences, and the two prestigious national scholarships he won to get him there!<\/p>\n Abdul received a\u00a0Boren scholarship<\/a>\u00a0to study Swahili in Tanzania last fall 2018, and then he won a\u00a0Gilman scholarship<\/a>\u00a0to study abroad on Augsburg’s own semester program\u00a0Nation Building and Decolonizing the Mind in Southern Africa<\/a>\u00a0last spring 2019.
