{"id":52241,"date":"2016-06-28T15:22:21","date_gmt":"2016-06-28T15:22:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/global\/?p=52241"},"modified":"2019-01-10T17:41:47","modified_gmt":"2019-01-10T17:41:47","slug":"photos-mexico-volcano-excursion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/global\/2016\/06\/28\/photos-mexico-volcano-excursion\/","title":{"rendered":"Photos: Mexico volcano excursion!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some photos from the summer program&#8217;s recent excursion to\u00a0the Nevado de Toluca, or\u00a0Xinant\u00e9catl.\u00a0An extinct volcano that is located in the State of Mexico, southeast of the city of Toluca. The Nevado de Toluca is approximately 4,600 meters above sea level. There is a crater in the volcano which contains lakes (Lake of the Moon and Lake of the Sun). The students were able to go down to these lakes. Although at one point it started hailing, the students really enjoyed the excursion! Two of our host families also came along and had a fun time climbing the Nevado.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to new IRA Amber Ramirez for the photos and description!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52242\"
