The theme of the event this year is \u201cBridges\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-50788\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2015\/05\/rsz_mark-265x300.png\" alt=\"Mark Lester Staff Photo\" width=\"265\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2015\/05\/rsz_mark-265x300.png 265w, https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2015\/05\/rsz_mark.png 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 265px) 100vw, 265px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mark will be presenting on the topic, \u201cBeyond Immersion and Service:\u00a0 Bridges for Institutionalizing the Impact of the Global South on our Educational Mission\u201d. This presentation uses the experience of a 30 year collaboration between Augsburg CGEE, the <a href=\"http:\/\/peacewinds.org\/\">Winds of Peace Foundation<\/a>, and the Research and Development Institute \u201cNitlapan-UCA\u201d in Nicaragua. The presentation is meant to provoke reflection on the gaps between the reality of the Global North and South, and the important role institutions can play \u201cas bridges\u201d between those realities.<\/p>\n<p>Mark will be presenting during breakout session #3, on Sunday, November 8th, from 1:10 \u2013 2:00 PM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*UPDATE November 11, 2015 &#8211; Mark&#8217;s full presentation is now posted online!
