During this time, he also supervised various clinical programs serving individuals with serious and persistent mental illness or co-occurring mental health and chemical health concerns. Carlson-Ghost has presented widely on topics including couples\u2019 psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and the interface of spirituality and mental health. He has written a book chapter on the history of psychology and has research interests in the area of continuing bonds in bereavement.\u00a0\u00a0He taught clinical psychology at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology for 11 years before continuing that role at Augsburg.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Education:<\/h3>\n<p>Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University in 1980<\/p>\n<p>BA from Saint Olaf College<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Professional Resources:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Awarded recognition as one of the winners of the BraVada Garrett-Akinsanya Distinguished Elders Award for Leadership in Minnesota Psychology (2023).<\/p>\n<p>Received the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology&#8217;s (NCSPP&#8217;s) President&#8217;s Leadership Award in 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Carlson-Ghost has conducted humanistic and CBT-oriented psychotherapy with individuals, groups, and couples in community mental health settings for over thirty years.
