{"id":52744,"date":"2023-04-17T18:32:50","date_gmt":"2023-04-17T18:32:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/dps\/?p=52744"},"modified":"2023-04-17T18:32:50","modified_gmt":"2023-04-17T18:32:50","slug":"timely-notice-4-17-23-aggravated-assault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/dps\/2023\/04\/17\/timely-notice-4-17-23-aggravated-assault\/","title":{"rendered":"Timely Notice 4\/17\/23: Aggravated Assault"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In accordance with the \u201cTimely Notice\u201d provision of the federal <\/span><b>Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Augsburg University Department of Public Safety is giving notice of a concerning incident that occurred off campus in\u00a0 Minneapolis but involved Augsburg students. .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>REPORTED OFFENSE:\u00a0 Aggravated Assault<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On 4\/17\/23, Augsburg\u2019s Department of Public Safety received a report that two students had a weapon pointed at them when they were driving to campus from an off campus location.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At about 1:40 AM on 4\/17\/23 two Augsburg students were driving off campus on 7th Street west of 20th Avenue when they observed a person walking in the middle of the street. The driver honked at the person as a warning their car was approaching. The person in the street\u00a0 responded by turning toward the vehicle and pointing what appeared to be a handgun at the car. The driver immediately backed away from the area. The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">vehicle<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> occupants reported the incident to an Augsburg Public Safety officer and the Minneapolis Police Department right after the incident occurred.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>STATUS: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Augsburg Public Safety and the Minneapolis Police are currently investigating this incident. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is urged to contact\u00a0 Augsburg Depart of Public Safety at 612-330-1717 or the Minneapolis Police.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please report any and all concerns that may impact our campus community.
