Armed Robbery<\/b><\/p>\n

In compliance with the \u201cTimely Notice\u201d provision of the federal <\/span>Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998<\/b>,<\/span> Augsburg University Department of Public Safety is giving notice of an incident that occurred yesterday on Riverside Ave. on the Minneapolis campus.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n REPORTED OFFENSE:\u00a0 Armed Robbery<\/b><\/p>\n Today, February 18, Augsburg\u2019s Department of Public Safety received a report that at approximately 5 p.m. on February 17, an armed robbery occurred on Riverside Ave. near the Ice Arena. A non-Augsburg individual was in their parked vehicle at the parking meters on the south side of Riverside Ave. when they were approached by a light blue, 4-door sedan with two occupants. The suspect in the passenger seat asked the victim for directions to HCMC, when the victim said they weren\u2019t from the area, the vehicle left. The same vehicle pulled up again a few minutes later and asked the victim to look up directions on their phone; when the victim pulled out their phone, the suspect in the passenger seat got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim, demanding the victim to get out of the vehicle. The victim was able to talk the suspects out of taking their vehicle but had their wallet taken. The suspects left in an unknown direction.<\/span><\/p>\n The suspect with the gun was described as a male, 5\u20198\u201d-5\u20199\u201d, slender build, black hair (short on the sides, longer on top) with a chipped right front tooth. The suspect vehicle was described as a light blue, 4-door sedan that had a very clean exterior (no salt or snow).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n STATUS: <\/b>\u00a0Augsburg Public Safety and the Minneapolis Police (MPD) are currently investigating this incident. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is urged to contact MPD or Augsburg DPS at 612-330-1717.<\/span><\/p>\n
