{"id":52435,"date":"2018-12-10T22:23:30","date_gmt":"2018-12-10T22:23:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/dps\/?p=52435"},"modified":"2018-12-10T22:23:30","modified_gmt":"2018-12-10T22:23:30","slug":"timely-notice-12-10-2018-robbery-on-minneapolis-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/dps\/2018\/12\/10\/timely-notice-12-10-2018-robbery-on-minneapolis-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Timely Notice 12\/10\/2018: Robbery on Minneapolis Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In compliance with the \u201cTimely Notice\u201d provision of the federal <\/span><b>Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Augsburg University Department of Public Safety is giving notice of a concerning incident that occurred on 8th St S between 20th Ave S and 21st Ave S on the Minneapolis campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>REPORTED OFFENSE: \u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Robbery<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DPS received a report that at 2:35 pm today, Monday, 12\/10\/2018, a robbery occurred on 8th St S between 20th Ave S and 21st Ave S. \u00a0The victim was walking east on 8th St S from 20th Ave when two individuals got out of a silver minivan and tried taking the victim\u2019s bag and backpack, knocking the victim to the ground. \u00a0When the victim refused to give the suspects their bag, the suspects kicked the victim two times. The suspects then took the victim\u2019s bag and backpack and fled in the silver minivan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SAFETY TIPS:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep your head up and always be aware of your surroundings <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not walk with earbuds or headphones on so you can hear what is going on around you<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walk with a group, if possible<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call Public Safety immediately if you notice any suspicious behavior<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>STATUS: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0This incident is under investigation by the Minneapolis Police (MPD) and Augsburg University Public Safety (DPS).
