{"id":52403,"date":"2018-10-08T21:01:32","date_gmt":"2018-10-08T21:01:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/dps\/?p=52403"},"modified":"2018-10-09T02:09:19","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T02:09:19","slug":"timely-notice-10818-robbery-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/dps\/2018\/10\/08\/timely-notice-10818-robbery-on-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Timely Notice 10\/8\/18: Robbery on Minneapolis Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In compliance with the \u201cTimely Notice\u201d provision of the federal <\/span><b>Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998,\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Augsburg University Department of Public Safety is giving notice of a concerning incident that occurred <\/span><b>on 21st avenue between parking Lots A and D<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the Minneapolis campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>REPORTED OFFENSE: \u00a0<\/b><b>Robbery<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DPS received a report that around 7:45 pm on 10\/08\/2018, a robbery occurred on 21st Avenue South in between Lots A and D<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0As the victim was walking to their vehicle, the victim reported that a group of six males passed them, one pushed the victim to the ground and took their phone. The victim did not see any weapon and did not report being threatened by a weapon. The group was seen running toward Murphy Square.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Department of Public Safety did foot and vehicle patrols, and checked nearby buildings; Minneapolis police arrived on campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SAFETY TIPS:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep your head up and always be aware of your surroundings <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not sit or walk with your phone\/laptop out<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not walk with earbuds or headphones on so you can hear what is going on around you<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call Public Safety immediately if you notice any suspicious behavior<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>STATUS: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This incident is currently under investigation by the Minneapolis police (MPD) and the Augsburg Department of Public Safety.
