Consistent enforcement of our parking lots allows Department of Public Safety staff to focus more on safety patrols of campus, and provide safer parking lots for all. Parking on Augsburg\u2019s campus requires a valid Augsburg-issued permit at all times your vehicle is parked in an Augsburg space\/lot. Your permit must reflect the appropriate area you are parked in, or you may still be subject to ticketing and\/or towing at your expense. The term &#8220;first-year&#8221; is in reference to the amount of credits you have (e.g., first-year, sophomore, junior, senior), not the amount of time you&#8217;ve spent on the Augsburg University or other higher learning campus. Very few exceptions can be made each academic year and are limited to medical necessities. Street parking may be available in metered spots on 22nd Ave., 7 1\/2 St., Butler Pl., and 23rd Ave S. Commuter students may also park in Augsburg-owned lots as needed with the purchase of a $5 daily visitor permit. Augsburg is currently allotted 75 of these permits per rolling 12 month calenda. Augsburg prioritizes first-year residential students for these permits. Please include your name, contact information, vehicle information including license plate number, and your class schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Parking for VISITORS &amp; NON-PERMIT HOLDERS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Use the button on the following heading to expand content on Visitor\/Guest Parking<\/span><h3 class=\"augs_expand_expandable_heading\"><button data-action=\"expands\" aria-controls=\"augs_expand_69e6f5ac66afe\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Visitor\/Guest Parking<\/button><\/h3><div id=\"augs_expand_69e6f5ac66afe\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the virtual parking permit system, we have split visitors into two categories: guests of the university and visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Guests of the University<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Guests of the university are people invited to campus on official business such as parents\/guardians of current students, visiting professors, guest speakers, and prospective students, among others. Guests of the university will not be charged for parking and will work with their host and the Department of Public Safety to provide them with the proper permit prior to arriving on campus. Anyone hosting a guest should contact p&#97;&#114;&#x6b;&#x69;n&#103;&#64;&#x61;&#x75;&#x67;s&#98;&#117;&#x72;&#x67;&#46;e&#100;&#x75; with details of the visit (date, time, and duration of visit) and include license plate information for your guests, if known. Please plan ahead if possible and request guest permits at least one week in advance of their visit.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Visitors<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Visitors<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are people who come to the Augsburg&#8217;s campus for pleasure and do not have official business with the University. Visitors wanting to park on the west end of campus (including lots A, D, E and G) will need to purchase a $5 permit in order to park in Augsburg-owned parking lots. Permits can be purchased through the Sentry Mobile phone app (available for free for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.mpspark.consumer.mpsconsumer&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=US&amp;pli=1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Android<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/sentry-mobile\/id990517203\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> devices), or by visiting the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/augsburg.mpspark.com\/users\/login\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MPS website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and creating an account. Lots L and K are free to park in after 4:00 p.m. and on weekends due to existing rental agreements for our athletic facilities; however, these parking lots will require a valid permit to park in Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All guests and visitors are encouraged to download the Sentry Mobile phone app prior to your visit. LPRs monitor the license plates of all vehicles driving through Augsburg parking lots; i<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">f a LPR registers a vehicle in the lot that doesn\u2019t have a valid permit, then pictures of the vehicle will be sent to the Department of Public Safety to review and determine if a violation has occurred. If it is determined a violation has occurred, then the owner of that vehicle will have a parking violation mailed to the address of the registered owner. If a vehicle has three unpaid tickets and is past the appeal date, that vehicle may be subject to being towed at the owner\u2019s expense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vehicles parked in a fire lane, on a striped area, blocking handicapped access or driveways, in reserved spaces, or on any unpaved surface, will also be subject to citation and towing at the owner\/operator\u2019s expense without notice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any Augsburg student with an outstanding fine will not be allowed to register, receive transcripts, or purchase a parking permit until all fines are paid. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fines outstanding for more than one semester may be forwarded to a collection agency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any vehicle towed by Augsburg University\u2019s Depart of Public Safety is brought to Metro WSI Towing (612-330-0013).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Parking on campus is a privilege. To submit an appeal electronically, sign into Inside Augsburg and select &#8220;Parking Services&#8221;. From the Parking Services website, click on &#8220;Pay\/Dispute Violation&#8221;, and enter the ticket number or vehicle plate number to search for the citation. Complete the form and click &#8220;Submit&#8221;. Your appeal will be reviewed as soon as possible and you will receive an email with the appeal decision.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For individuals who do not have an Augsburg account, you can submit an appeal by going to <a href=\"http:\/\/augsburg.mpspark.com\/pay\">augsburg.mpspark.com\/pay<\/a>, enter your ticket number and license plate number, and select &#8220;Dispute This Violation&#8221;; or you can submit an appeal to <\/span><a href=\"&#x6d;&#x61;&#105;&#108;to&#x3a;&#x70;&#x61;&#114;ki&#x6e;&#x67;&#x40;&#97;&#117;g&#x73;&#x62;&#x75;&#114;&#103;&#46;&#x65;&#x64;&#x75;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#x70;a&#x72;&#107;&#x69;&#110;g&#x40;&#97;&#x75;&#103;s&#x62;&#117;&#x72;&#103;&#46;&#x65;d&#x75;<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Please include your name, reason for appeal, and a picture of the citation in your email. <strong>Appeals must be received no later than 21 days after the date of issue on the ticket<\/strong>. Any appeals after this date may not be considered. Once received, your appeal will be reviewed and a decision will be communicated to you as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Please note: A lost ticket, forgetfulness, running late, parking only for a short period, parking in non-designated spaces, having an incorrect license plate number entered into the system, and\/or not seeing signs are unacceptable grounds for appeal, and will not be considered<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By appealing a ticket, you claim responsibility for all vehicles involved, regardless of ownership of the vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>ALTERNATIVE MODES OF TRANSPORTATION<\/strong><\/h2>\n<span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Use the button on the following heading to expand content on Transportation Information<\/span><h3 class=\"augs_expand_expandable_heading\"><button data-action=\"expands\" aria-controls=\"augs_expand_69e6f5ac66b57\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Transportation Information<\/button><\/h3><div id=\"augs_expand_69e6f5ac66b57\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/p>\n<p>There are many transportation options in the Twin Cities area and the Augsburg University Department of Public Safety promotes using these transportation methods. Bicycles parked along fences, handrails, or signposts will be impounded. Unclaimed bicycles will be donated to local bicycle restoration organizations.
