The Christensen Scholars Program is a small group of ten academically accomplished students who share an interest in the theological and practical exploration of Christian community and vocation. The experience promises to be intellectual, communal, theological, dialogical, challenging, and practical.<\/span><\/p>\n

Structure<\/b><\/h3>\n

There are three components to the Christensen Scholars Program:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Seminar: <\/b>Christensen Scholars gather every other Thursday evening from 6pm-8pm in a seminar style class to reflect theologically and explore vocation and Christian community. This seminar qualifies as an elective for a religion major or minor, and it is co-taught by a Religion professor and a University Pastor.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The Community:<\/b> Christensen Scholars actively engage in practices of Christian community together that will deepen your sense of self and belonging.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The Trip:<\/b> Christensen Scholars will also take a pilgrimage together to Holden Village<\/a>, a Lutheran retreat center in the Cascade mountains where they will continue their exploration of vocation in the midst of this small, mountain community. Students will engage in study and join into the labor of the remote community by volunteering. There is also time for rest, retreat, and play. The trip will be January 5-15, 2026 and all expenses will be covered.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
