In this role he will be coordinating the creation of the V-Portfolio which is a tool that will allow students to capture, reflect, and gain insight from their learning experiences and vocation throughout their time at Augsburg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/01\/BATES-JON.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54765 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/01\/BATES-JON-300x240.jpeg\" alt=\"Headshot of Jon Bates\" width=\"268\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/01\/BATES-JON-300x240.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/01\/BATES-JON-768x614.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/01\/BATES-JON-1024x819.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/01\/BATES-JON.jpeg 1250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 268px) 100vw, 268px\" \/><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With excitement, Jon makes a return to Augsburg University as he graduated with a Bachelor\u2019s of Arts in Youth and Family Ministry Degree in 2015. Since graduation Jon worked in children, youth, and family ministry in faith communities within the Twin Cities and also Billings, Montana. He also spent time working in the digital department at Star Tribune from 2017-2019. Through his eclectic career, Jon has admired his time building relationships amongst his teams, creating projects for people of all ages, and the time spent organizing information, art supplies, and bundt pans. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, Jon is also a nursing student at Minneapolis Community &amp; Technical College. He finds joy in coffee, reading, time with his loved ones, and time napping. Jon is eager to strengthen his skills in project management, work with the CCV Team and other departments on campus, and create the V-Portfolio for the students of Augsburg. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jon joined the Christensen Center for Vocation team at the beginning of 2022 as the V-Portfolio Coordinator.
