{"id":52985,"date":"2019-03-08T20:24:23","date_gmt":"2019-03-08T20:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/?p=52985"},"modified":"2019-10-15T15:00:10","modified_gmt":"2019-10-15T15:00:10","slug":"spring-vocation-lunch-with-ben-stottrup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/2019\/03\/08\/spring-vocation-lunch-with-ben-stottrup\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring Vocation Lunch with Ben Stottrup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Augsburg\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Faculty and Staff,<\/strong>\u00a0you are invited to attend the spring vocation lunch with Ben Stottrup,\u00a0Department Chair and Associate Professor of the Physics Department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, April 9<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>12:00 PM \u2013 1:15 PM<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>East Commons, Christensen Center<\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-52984 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/ccv\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2019\/03\/moe-stottrup_family-169x300.jpg\" alt=\"Ben Stottrup and family\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ben Stottrup joined Augsburg\u2019s Physics Department in 2005. Since then, he<\/span>\u00a0has enjoyed a front row seat to watch and assist Augsburg\u2019s science majors start their careers and pursue their own adventures. \u00a0While at Augsburg, he has built a research lab focused on biomaterials, soft, and squishy interfaces. This work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Minnesota Space Grant Consortium, as well as private donors and foundations. \u00a0In the classroom, he has taught across nearly the entire physics curriculum with a focus on how experiential education in science labs can build professional skills for students.
