Visit with chorale members, members of the Augsburg Alumni Board,\u00a0<\/span>Masterworks<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Director Dr. Peter Hendrickson\u00a0<\/span>\u201976, and composers Steve Heitzeg and Olli Kortekangas.<\/p>\n

Admission to the concert is free.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\nSeven Songs for Planet Earth, by\u00a0<\/span>Olli Kortekangas\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 Midwest Premiere in Minneapolis<\/p>\n

Seven Songs for Planet Earth, Finnish composer Olli Kortekangas’s symphonic cantata with Earth Day texts by Wendell Berry, will receive its Midwest premiere on the Earth Day weekend, with\u00a0<\/span>mezzo-soprano\u00a0<\/span>Nicole Warner\u00a0<\/span>\u201901,\u00a0<\/span>baritone\u00a0<\/span>Aaron Larson, Nancy Grundahl’s children’s choir Angelica Cantanti, and the\u00a0<\/span>Masterworks <\/span>Chorale of Augsburg College, conducted by Peter Hendrickson. The work was first performed in 2011 in Washington D.C., and has since received both American and Finnish performances.<\/p>\n
