Jorgenson &#8217;71<br \/>\nAuthor and Augsburg College Regent<br \/>\nApril 7th\u00a0at 7:00 p.m. in the Marshall Room<br \/>\nPresentation:\u00a0\u201cThe First Minnesota in the American Civil War\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by Michael Lansing, Department of History, and John Cerrito, Department of Business<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">This is the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War. The Civil War defined our country and helped to\u00a0shape the country that we are still becoming. The War raged on from 1861 into Spring of 1865 with over\u00a0600,000 casualties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>President Lincoln called for troops to put down the rebellion of the Confederate States. Minnesota was\u00a0the first state to respond and promised to send to Washington an infantry regiment. Wayne Jorgenson\u00a0has authored an excellent book on the complete history of the life and death of the 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne Jorgenson&#8217;s lecture on April 7 will be interesting, informative and thought provoking.
