• Wants to join the company of musicians at Augsburg’s annual Advent Vespers services at Central Lutheran Church?

If so, then Vespers Choir is for you!

Commitment:

• 3 consecutive Tuesday evening rehearsals starting on October 31.
• 2 dress rehearsals at Central Lutheran Church: November 28 and 30.
• 3 Services: December 1 at 7:00 p.m. and December 2 at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Open to anyone in the Augsburg community (plus your friends and family).

Velkommen Jul is an annual celebration at Augsburg, presented by the Augsburg Associates, to welcome the Advent and Christmas seasons.

Join us in the chapel for our annual Velkommen Jul service –  A Scandinavian Christmas Celebration – on Friday, December 2, at 10:40am, in Hoversten Chapel. We welcome Nordic musicians Erik Rydvall and Olav Luksengård Mjelva, who play traditional Scandinavian instruments in new ways. We will also sing Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian carols together. Wear your Norwegian sweater and join the fun!

At 11 a.m., join a festive celebration in the Commons with Scandinavian treats, including lefse, krumkake, and coffee, prepared by the Augsburg Associates. Shop the boutique in the Christensen Center lobby for unique gifts and goodies. All proceeds benefit student scholarships, and donations are accepted at the buffet by Augsburg Associates holding gift baskets.

Continue the celebration by attending the Advent Vespers worship service on Friday evening at 5 p.m. or 8 p.m., or one of three services on Saturday, December 3. .

Following the brunch, guests are invited to Central Lutheran Church for the 2 p.m. Advent Vespers worship service to celebrate the Christmas season with music and praise. There is no need to reserve separate seats for the service. Reserved seating on the floor will be provided with your brunch ticket.

Advent Vespers is one of the largest worship services in the Twin Cities with more than 10,000 attendees spanning two days of services. Featuring 300 participants including choirs, instrumentalists, readers, and a full liturgical party, this service is a meaningful way to enter the Advent season.
