Summer Orientation And Registration (SOAR)<\/h2>\n

Prior to SOAR<\/a>, Academic Advisors register first-year students in full schedules based on their major and the course interests they indicate in the Course Request Form (located in the Admissions Portal<\/a>).<\/p>\n

To be registered for classes, it is essential to complete the Math Placement Test <\/strong><\/a>. All Augsburg students must demonstrate College Algebra proficiency for graduation and some majors such as Business and STEM require this proficiency before you can enroll in major-specific courses. You may be waived from the math placement test if you have transferred in Algebra, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus coursework from a college institution or received the required score on a credit by exam<\/a>.<\/p>\n

College credit earned in high school<\/h2>\n

First-year students who have earned college credits in high school through programs such as Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College in the Schools (CIS), or Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) will need to have an official transcript sent to Augsburg AS SOON AS POSSIBLE<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 a high school transcript will not be sufficient.<\/strong> Visit the Registrar\u2019s website for more information on credit by exams<\/a> and transcript submission<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Augsburg Seminars<\/h2>\n

All first-year students participate in an Augsburg Seminar (AugSem\/AUG101), which is a 1-credit course that focuses on the transition from high school to college. The course helps students build community, refine academic skills, connect with campus resources, and more.
