Students may take a Spanish or French Placement Test to begin their language classes beyond Beginning Level I. This placement test is not a waiver, does not provide credit, and does not fulfill Languages and Oral Communication and\/or Local and Global Perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Students may satisfy the Languages and Oral Communication general education by transferring in credits earned from a Minnesota Bilingual Seal\/Certificate, an ACTFL exam, an Advanced Placement (AP) exam, an International Baccalaureate (IB) exam, or a CLEP exam. Augsburg does not cover exam fees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you are in a pre-Fall 2025 catalog year and you are looking to fulfill Modern Language I and II through a test, please consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/advising\/pre-fall-2025-catalog-policies\/\">pre-Fall 2025 catalog policies page<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"fgs\">SPANISH OR FRENCH Placement Test<\/h2>\n<p><a type=\"button\" class=\"btn btn-default btn-lg\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/2wjfZVMCHhvX4ZP86\">Request Placement Test<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Important Notes Before Taking a Placement Test<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>This placement test does not award credit. This placement test is not a waiver and does not fulfill Languages and Oral Communication and\/or Local and Global Perspectives.<\/li>\n<li>Retaking the test to get a better score is not allowed.<\/li>\n<li>You cannot take the placement test for a language that you have already earned college credit in.<\/li>\n<li>Plan on preparing for the Spanish or French Placement Test by:\n<ul>\n<li>Seting up a <a href=\"http:\/\/Duolingo.com\">Duolingo.com<\/a> (free) account and practicing for several days<\/li>\n<li>Giving yourself adequate time for the test: ideally 45 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Being aware that the test uses a progressive format.
